This girl is getting GOOD at puzzles!

She takes her time and works, works, works to get them completely finished – proud of her!  Some friends of ours in Denver had given us a whole tote of kids puzzles with 25-100 pieces and she’s been plowing through them!

Both kids are still in love with their chicks!

They still love their grown up chickens, too!  We had ice cream for fun Friday snack and they shared with their favorite chicken, Naked.

There was a lot of goat playing.  Wryder helped sister feed them on Friday.

She has done SO well and been so faithful to her chores!  After we mix the milk, she feeds them all by herself twice a day; we’re proud of her work ethic!

This weekend, she worked on breaking them to lead.  They think she’s their mom so they followed pretty willingly.

The weather is supposed to be so nice all week!  This morning she said she had three things she’d like to do today…shoot her gun, burn tumbleweeds and roast marshmallows!  I love my little country girl!  I’m betting we’ll get those done!  I mean, c’mon, that sounds fun for EVERYONE!

Saturday Mornings Are My Favorite

Saturday mornings are my favorite.

I love waking up to my warm, strong hubby and not having to hurry to get out of bed.  I love that he took the time to feel sweet Sayble (who is not NEAR as active as her siblings) and she responded by kicking him in the cheek.

I love hearing the kids playing and talking quietly in their rooms waiting for the ok to come downstairs…….or for us to rescue them from their crib.

I love watching them dance with daddy to “Like a Cowboy” or “God Made Girls” while I cook breakfast.

I love the conversations about all that happened on Friday while daddy was away at work.

I love the excitement to get warm clothes on to go help daddy with chores and the glee when they realize he doesn’t have to go to a sale today.

Seriously, Saturday morning joy is just PALPABLE!

My little football watching girl (praise God I have a partner to watch with!) informed daddy of all of the games going on this weekend and who we wanted to win (the Broncos, of course) and who we wanted to lose (the Patriots, of course).  We have to get to work the nursery tomorrow at church and she’s excited to don her Bronco gear, tattoos and all, and suggested we do the same.

Yesterday was Fun Friday and the kids had been so patient this week with all of the nesting going on around here that we decided to take a little road trip to Sterling.

Sawyer was, of course, sweet and happy and revved up to go.  Wryder…..not so much.  Night and day these two, I tell ya.

I wanted to snap a pic of them before we left because they’re just so stinkin’ cute and these were the best I got…

Once we got in the car, Wryder perked up a bit and by the time we got to the play place he was a happy camper!

After an hour and a half of playing and eating, we ventured off to Wal Mart to grab a few necessities (and clearance Christmas items) and the lady at the bakery gave the kids free cookies.  Day.  Made.

Today will be day of cupcake decorating, football watching, snuggling, playing, laughing and JOY.  Here’s to Saturday!

Moooooove Over Monday

Mondays always kind of make me blue.  I love weekends with my family and I dread Wrexy going back to work for the week.  This weekend was no exception…we had a really fun time celebrating him.

Sawyer is kind of like her mom and gets really excited about events and functions so we decorated a little for daddio.  Surprise, surprise, I know.  She wanted to throw him a cow birthday party but we were in Denver that weekend so we decided to throw him a cow Father’s Day!

The cards at the top are bidding cards they use at the sale barn and then I just found a cow template I liked and made the bunting.

IMG_4857He was so cute and appreciative of all of our hard work.  I went to take everything down last night and he asked me to leave them up one more day.  So many reasons to love that man…

On Saturday, we did a little shopping and then ran to town to celebrate the birthdays of two sweet friends from church.  The second party was a pool party and we got in a few good minutes of swimming before the storm clouds started rolling in.  The kids are both little fish so it was a lot of fun.  If we lived in town, we’d be at the pool every day, no doubt…

On Sunday, the kiddos surprised daddy with sweet shirts that we ordered that said, “I love my daddy.”

Wryder was still a little tired from the parties the day before and was none to excited about having his picture taken.

He did, however, take seven steps on his own!  YAY!  He might just walk yet!

All in all, it was a great weekend.  We took daddy to eat a yummy hamburger, got a root beer float and then let him take a three hour afternoon nap.  What’s better than that?!
