WD’s JD Party

Our sweet little Wryder loves tractors.  They are, hands down, his favorite thing right now.  He loves to watch them work ground all around us or look at pictures of them on the internet or play with his or ask Mr. Rick for rides…  With his second birthday coming up, we knew a tractor party he should have!

We had some of his favorite things to eat, including:

  • sickle mower sweet potato fries
  • garden tractor veggie tray
  • four stroke fruit
  • compact corn on the cob
  • duel fuel lemonade

I can’t believe this little guy is almost two!  It feels like his first two years went faster than they did with Sawyer.  Hard to believe she’s gonna be five.  Yes, five.

We’re all still trying to regain some rest after such a fun weekend with the fam and the kids are definitely going through grandparent detox.  Don’t act like you don’t know what I mean…  😉

Bubba’s Big Boy Room

Of course we couldn’t forget Wryder’s room!  He’s officially moving upstairs AND into a toddler bed – Lord help us!  Sawyer was in one at 18 months…but he sleeps a little wilder than she does.  We haven’t made the switch just yet but we have a few months.

I mentioned in a previous post that I had bought him some John Deere curtains and I must say, I think they look adorable.  Plus, hearing him yell, “Tractor!” every time he runs into his new room (and then hug them) makes them well worth it.

We kept the big bed in the room so that we can still use this as guest room as needed.  He’s small and flexible enough that he can sleep anywhere else in the house when company comes.

I didn’t know what I was going to think of this room with all we had to make fit but I think it turned out pretty cute.  The fact that he loves it and that sister is SOOOOOO excited to have him as her “neighbor” is enough for me!  I just don’t know how my little boy got so big…….

Mars Vs Venus

Our sweet neighbors are in the throes of corn harvest and the kiddos got to go ride in the combine this afternoon!  They were FIRED UP!  Wryder is all about anything tractor related and any time Sawyer gets to spend with Mr. Rick, she’s all about.

She got her cowgirl clothes on again…

and out they went!

I stayed home to finish unpacking and doing laundry since we were gone all weekend in Denver…and tomorrow is doomsday in my book.  I have to go to the dentist and get at least one tooth pulled.  Fun yes?  NO.   Pray for me…please.

I asked daddy to take some pics since I wasn’t gonna go this time…………and this is what he came home with.

That’s it.  That’s all the pictures he took.  Not one of the kids in the combine…or with Mr. Rick…or by the grain cart…just corn…that I see out every window of our house every day.

Sigh.

I mean, I didn’t specify pics OF THE CHILDREN or the experience, but I guess I thought that was a given?!  Sawyer said, “I guess we’ll just have to go again!”  I wasn’t quite that gracious.  *ahem*

Funny how different we can be sometimes, yes?  I just have to laugh…
